This body of work was done between 2015 and 2016 while following a hip-hop collective in the south side of São Paulo, at the Helipa favela. Avante Coletivo is a collective of rappers, producers, and graffiti artists that live and work in the favela with kids and youth to empower them through the culture and principles of hip-hop. The images reflect the months spent working and navigating the huge world of Brazil's second biggest favela.
